Our Mission
In serving the Greater Bay Area, California Communities, our mission is to serve underserved, underrepresented, low-income, and high risk children through career mentorship in the Sciences and Mathematics. Up In Steam 501c3 non-profit Engineering Enrichment Program is a non-profit organization committed to engaging children through the use of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics hands-on projects. Our focus is to enrich educational experiences by connecting Mathematics and Science Curriculum to hands-on experiences. Our goal is to resonate career interest in the field of engineering from young women and men of color. In addition, this is with a primary focus of increasing the intent to pursue careers in engineering from young women and accelerate representation of women of color within STEAM industries.
